“Men wanted for Hazardous Journey. Small wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger, safe return doubtful. Honor and recognition in case of success.”

This is an ad from a London paper, given by one of the greatest explorers of Antarctica, Ernest Shackleton. His last trip was chain of dramatic events. Each event could end tragically. The ship they sailed was smashed by ice. The crew was evacuated into lifeboats and sailing through an unending storm they reached a desert island. Shackleton left his crew on the island and organized a rescue trip on a small boat through the stormiest waters of the world and climbed unconquered mountains to get to the whalers’ settlement. He saved his entire crew. Shackleton is perceived to be a model leader.
He was a leader who helped others. He always diminished any differences in status and made sure all his crewmen respected and treated each other well. One of his men remarked: “he always did his best, and gave us faith in the darkest times.”
He radiated with positive energy. He worked the hardest, slept the littlest and always stood on the front line. He was fitter than any of us.

Leading is a challenge and a responsibility. Organizations need effective leaders who understand the ever changing business reality and motivate their people with intelligence and empathy.  Our training is based on a premise, that anyone can learn how to be a better leader.
