When designing a game we always concentrate on the practical application in the workplace. Participants can instantly test the theory during a game, and see that it works. Our trainings are customized to the team’s needs. And depending on those needs, we can either focus on knowledge, practical tools or integration.

Effective team

British Corporation ICI which is one of the biggest chemical companies In the world created very high standards for their recruitment processes. There was one rule: “only the best”. For managerial positions ICI hired only the best alumnis of the best universities. Scientists with phd’s were running their factories. This is how they created a peculiar managerial elite with a very high IQ, analytical skills and critical thinking.
Was that the perfect method to create an effective team?
Turns out, it was far from it.

Why some teams reach their goals and others are stuck in conflict and can’t achieve anything? This is a problem dr Belbin decided to research. He stated a question every manager asks themselves: “What makes a team ineffective?”.
While searching for an answear it’s good to look into sports. Members of teams who win, are able to find their best performance position. Someone can be better in the forwards, somebody else is a natural born goal keeper. If everyone wanted to kick the ball at the same time, it would be a total chaos. That’s why a good team consists of players who play according to their talents.

Building an effective team needs to start from learning typology of team roles. A team role is the resultant of dominant personality traits and ways a person behaves in a group. Knowing person’s role we can predict how he/she will communicate, build relationship with others and in what kind of tasks will be the most effective.
We’ve been using dr Belbin’s method for the last 15 years. We own the e-Interplace® tool, which helps to diagnose everyone’s team role. The Belbin Workshop is the first step to develop effectiveness of your team.

Feedback from our client – AGORA S.A.
“The atmosphere was amazing! At first we were a bit hesitant (people didn’t really know each other from this side), but later it was pure cooperation and joy from being together. For the first time in my life I participated in tasks, that were completely different from the usual, typical set of problems. Completely engaging, imaginative, showing practical applications of various personalities in a team. Knowledge – systhematized what I knew before + added some new info. Overall – a very useful training, you get a knowledge about yourself and others!”
